bentons of Annandale has been looking after the real estate interests of the local inner west community for over 100 years.

• Established in 1907 by Mr J F Benton, the firm played a major role in the new subdivisions of the Annandale/Leichhardt areas. In the early 1920's Mr W J Johnston was made a partner of the firm. Mr Johnston, a descendant of Major Johnston of the NSW Corp, became Mayor of Annandale in 1937.
• During the mid 1930's Mr P S Dowe became a partner with Mr Johnston. At the same time Mr A F Brown was employed as a junior.
• Mr A F Brown was made a partner in the business in 1960 and sole owner in 1966. In 1967 Terry Torpy was employed and was later joined by his brother Shane Torpy in 1975.
• Upon Mr Brown's retirement in 1982 Terry and Shane became partners and today operate an active company still looking after the real estate needs of the local community.
• The firm has one of the strongest rental departments within the inner west as well as an established sales department, which specialises in residential property. Both Terry and Shane Torpy are fully licensed Real Estate Agents.
• bentons was established in the famous Goodman's Building on the corner of Parramatta Road and Johnston Street and remains today in this prominent location.
